Menopause is the cessation of menstrual cycle in women for more than a year. Although menopause is a naturally occurring biological process, certain factors like hysterectomy, radiation therapy, certain medication can also lead to menopause. Menopause monitoring profile is a comprehensive profile that includes a series of tests to monitor the hormonal functions and other biochemical parameters in peri-menopausal women or women showing signs of menopause.

This test requires a blood sample. A tourniquet (elastic) band is placed tightly on the upper arm. The patient is then asked to make a fist. This helps in the build-up of blood filling the veins. The skin is disinfected before needle insertion and the blood sample is collected in vacutainer.
